Cindy Killavey, Storyteller
When we know each other's stories. We learn that we are not so very different from one another. We have the same dreams, hopes and fears.
Then we can look into a stranger's eyes, And find ourselves looking back
Award-winning storyteller Cindy Killavey has been delighting audiences of all ages since 1985. Along with performing at schools, libraries and festivals from
Toronto to Texas, she has also recorded books on tape, hosted a weekly cable television show, done "on the street" interviews during local parades and was a finalist in the "Storyteller of the Year" contest. Second runner-up nationwide in 2001, she also received awards from Cox Communications for her cable television programs for children and families. The Providence YWCA named her an "Outstanding Woman" in 2000 and a local Boy Scout Troop gave her an award to recognize her service to youth. She is listed on the Folk Arts/Education roster of the Rhode Island State Council on the Arts and was selected by the Rhode Island Division of Library Services to perform at libraries across the state during the summer.
Cindy offers programs for children and adults and can also work with your school or organization to design a performance based on your needs or
curriculum. Currently available to travel in the New England area. Contact her soon to schedule a storytelling program where you too can be "spellbound".
